Home Mods
At Rebuilding Together Greater Los Angeles, we are gearing our program to run year round. While we may not be able to complete full house rehabs year round, one way we believe we can better serve the community is through our Home Mods. Program.
Through our Home Mods. Program, we hope to improve the safety and accessibility within and around the home with such modifications as a wheelchair ramp, hand rails, improved lighting, lever handles on doors and faucets, grab bars in showers, etc.
With the expertise of volunteer Occupational Therapists we hope to define areas within the home that are easily modified to reduce the risk of falls and injuries in and around the home, enabling our aging community members to age in place in the home that they love.
To ensure the success of this program, we need a listing of qualified handymen who can assist us in the installation of grab bars and plumbing fixtures, as well as the occasional wheelchair ramp build. If you know of someone who has the skills necessary and would be interested in volunteering, please refer them to us!!
