Rebuilding Together borrows from the concept of an old-fashioned American barn raising.  As many as 100 volunteers, both skilled and unskilled, show up on a Saturday morning to work on a recipient's home.  Skilled and unskilled volunteers work side by side to improve the living conditions of the homeowner. Often, skilled volunteers allow unskilled workers to learn to hang drywall, set tile or any of a variety of other necessary tasks.
